OAKLAND LOFT

In the vibrant Jack London neighborhood of Oakland, CA, Lane McNab Interiors (LMI) embarked on a mission to transform a dated industrial loft into a sophisticated sanctuary that reflects the refined taste of its owner, a professional realtor. This project stands out for its successful fusion of the loft's original industrial character with luxurious, contemporary finishes, striking a balance between authenticity and modern elegance.

The design concept focused on maintaining the exposed architectural elements that define the loft's industrial heritage while introducing high-end finishes and custom millwork. By incorporating solid wood, solid bronze hardware, and plush upholstery in velvet and linen, LMI crafted a space that exudes sophistication without compromising the loft's historical integrity. The use of authentic materials not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the home but also adds a layer of richness and depth to the living environment.

One of the unique challenges of this project was to retain the industrial look while infusing the space with elegance and functionality, particularly in terms of storage solutions for shoes and clothing. LMI addressed these needs through the creation of bespoke pieces, including a custom closet, buffet, sectional, and a bed from the exclusive GUILD by LMI line. The custom-made nightstands and buffet hardware further personalize the space, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that defines LMI's approach.

This project showcases how custom furnishings and standout details, like one-of-a-kind hardware and intricate millwork, tell the story of an old industrial space transformed into a sleek, elegant loft. It beautifully blends respect for the building's history with modern style and comfort, making it a perfect example of updating a space while honoring its past.
